RAT ResponsibleSupplyChain.eu: the T&C Social Dialogue CSR for European SMEs
ResponsibleSupplyChain.eu: the CSR risk management platform for globalized production systems. Improving performances of the supply chains through managing Corporate Social Responsibility related issues.
The European Social Partners of the Textile and Clothing industry, Euratex and industriAll European Trade Union, have implemented 2 projects on “Corporate Social Responsibility in the European Textile and Clothing Industry” since 2013.
One of the most important and tangible result of these projects is represented by www.responsiblesupplychain.eu, the CSR Risk Management platform which hosts a specialised tool for CSR Risk Management in the Textile and Clothing industry. The Risk Management Tool has also been recognised as best practices into the Commission Staff Working Document in 2017.
This is of particular relevance for the sector, in a context of globalisation and delocalisation of production towards low labour cost countries on one hand, and of a pledge for a more sustainable and competitive industry on the other hand, it is evident how Corporate Social Responsibility is an increasingly important issue for Textile and Clothing manufacturing companies around the world and in Europe in particular.
This Background led the European Social Partners to the decision of investing more time and efforts to support EU T&C SMEs in the awareness of the Corporate Social Responsibility, in the use of the Risk Management Tool and in the consequent mitigation of CSR related risks.
Euratex and industriAll European Trade Union have decided to go ahead with this project by creating a Network of experts at national level to facilitate the adoption and the use of the Risk Management Tool and to implement and disseminate the CSR practices. The European Commission has agreed to finance a third project on the topic (VS/2017/0377), aiming at creating and consolidating the so called: “TeXdr Network – The Textile and Clothing CSR Network for European SMEs”.
